A cuddly cat by the name of Hatch-chan that became internationally famous with his own blog and unique smiles. The stray turned celebrity cat was able to build up a following of some 50,000 daily, owing to the human intervention by his owner/photographer.

Uncle Cat was famous long before the catastrophic earthquake in Japan on April 11th, 2011 as people loved the cute cat's many fascinating pictures. Shortly after the earthquake, rumors spread on the internet that Uncle Cat was killed as the blog stopped updating. Many people were very sad. The good news came a couple weeks later when the owner renewed his blog announcing that Uncle Cat was still alive by showing a set of fresh photos of the cat.
