A female shaman of Norse paganism. Völva were reportedly able to perform a wide variety of magic, both helpful and harmful, but in particular their prophecising was powerful enough that even the gods would sometimes consult them. They belonged to the highest level of society and were very rich. They carried around wands to perofrm magic, although looms could also be used.
