Xia Dynasty

The Xia Dynasty which was established 1600 BC marked the end of the primitive society and the raise of a class society. It was the first dynasty in Chinese history and lasted 500 years including the reign of 17 emperors. Initially when Yu the great founded the empire, it had an abdication system where the leader was chosen according to his ability but after his death, his son took over and introduced a hereditary system.
