Zhou Dynasty

The Zhou dynasty was established in 770 BC. It is the longest dynasty in history of China stretching over a period of 800 years with reigns of thirty seven emperors. It is divided into two periods, the eastern dynasty (that lasted from 770 BC – 221 BC) and the western dynasty (11th century BC to 771 BC). The social, economic, political, and cultural development of the Zhou dynasty were much more illustrious than the Shang dynasty.
