A liqueur flavoured with herbs and distilled from wormwood, which is very high in alcohol (68 % alcohol; 136 proof), once believed to cause mania and even death. After a long ban in the U.S. this aphrodisiac has recently been re-approved for sale here, under the close scrutiny of the FDA.
