Gray-looking middle altitude cloud that is composed of water droplets and ice crystals. Appears in the atmosphere as dense sheet like layer. Can be recognised from stratus clouds by the fact that you can see the Sun through it. Found in an altitude range from 2,000 to 8,000 meters.
