French acronym for Regulatory Authority of Online Games (Autorité de Régulation des Jeux en Ligne). Created in June 2010, it is the French government entity that is empowered to grant, at an online poker room or sports betting website, a licence that legally allows the room to carry on business in France, in exchange of a fee.

Since the inception of this law, French player are no longer allowed to play with the rest of the world and must play only each other. That's why since June 2010, many professional players earning their living through poker changed country, usually to settle in Spain, Thailand, and England.
