Spa and skin care products often come in two sizes. The larger size is called the back bar and is used by a therapist during treatment. It is not sold to clients and is not subject to the same labelling requirements as products sold to the public. The smaller size is sold in the retail area for clients to use for home care. Retail items must meet the Food and Drug Administration's labelling requirements for cosmetics.
