Bipolar II disorder

Bipolar II disorder is a bipolar spectrum disorder. Some signs of bipolar II disorder include hypomania, which includes high levels of anxiety, insomnia, irritability, and mood swings. Individuals with bipolar II disorder are more prone to have bouts with major depressive episodes and are therefore more at risk of suicide than those with bipolar I.

Bipolar II disorder is treated with medication, including mood stabilizers. Medication is also sometimes complemented with cognitive behavioural therapy.
