A moderately brisk wind; a movement of the air not so strong as a gale or as a stiff breeze. The following are several different types of breeze:

fresh breeze, a breeze (numbered 5 in Beaufort's wind-scale) having a velocity of about 8.8 metres per second.

gentle breeze, a breeze (numbered 3 in Beaufort's wind-scale) having a velocity of about 4.8 metres per second.

light breeze, a breeze (numbered 2 in Beaufort's wind-scale) having a velocity of about 3.1 metres per second.

moderate breeze, a breeze (numbered 4 in Beaufort's wind-scale) having a velocity of about 6.7 metres per second.

mountain breeze, same meaning as mountain breeze. A regular wind normally blowing up a mountain by day and down by night, due to the heat of the inclined surface of the mountain.

stiff breeze, a breeze of considerable strength or velocity; a strong breeze.

strong breeze, a breeze (numbered 6 in Beaufort's wind-scale) having a velocity of about 10.7 metres per second.
