Broaches
A long hardened steel tool, mostly tapered but also available in parallel form, usually with five cutting edges and used for enlarging pivot holes to size after drilling. Burnishing broaches, for finishing or burnishing holes, have smooth sides and no cutting edges. Broaches usually have a squared tapered tang for fitting to a drillbrace, tapwrench, wooden handle or pintongs. Some small broaches have long knurled integral steel handles.
