Compass

The compass was invented during the Han dynasty for divination, it later evolved into a directional device. These compasses were south pointing and were primarily used as direction locators. The spoon was made from lodestone which is naturally magnetic towards the poles while the plates were made of bronze. The compass was important to the Chinese culturally and also useful in modern day exploration.
