Dynamite fishing
The practise of detonating (often improvised) explosives underwater to kill the marine life within, then collecting the dead fish. The practise has been banned almost everywhere but is still practiced, legally or not, in certain parts of southeast Asia and Africa.
The practise is strongly frowned upon as it causes widespread damage to the surrounding environment, the marine ecosystem, results in heavy amounts of waste from dead fish that are not collected, and can frequently injure the fishermen themselves who are generally not trained in the use of explosives.
