Vacuums have varying degrees of filtration, but philtres all serve to minimise the number of particles that escape. Filtration systems can have layers made of nylon, paper, cloth or foam. Micron philtres are usually better at filtering than standard filters, but they are not as effective as HEPA filters. True HEPA philtres offer the highest level of filtration.
