Home, inner-home and outer-home signals

Home signals are generally stop signals in rear of a station or signalbox. Two consecutive stop signals are sometimes required at stations, in which case the first one reached when approaching the station in the normal direction of travel is the outer-home signal and the second one is termed the inner-home signal.
