Mylohyoid muscle
A muscle with origin from the mylohyoid line of the mandible, with insertion into the upper border of the hyoid bone and the raphe separating the muscle from its fellow, with nerve supply from the mylohyoid nerve. It helps to raise the tongue and lower the mandible for mastication and swallowing and also forms the floor of the mouth.
