Optimization principle
In mental spaces theory, the principle that allows counterparts of an element, together with properties and relations, to spread through the mental spaces lattice. The optimization principle guarantees that structure propagates downwards through the mental spaces lattice, unless the information being propagated is explicitly contradicted by some new information that emerges as the discourse proceeds.
This principle enables mental space configurations to build complex structures with a minimum of explicit instructions.
