Phase comparator

Circuit used in a phase-locked loop to tell how closely the phase locked loop reference signal and the PLL output are in phase with each other. If the two signals are not in phase, the Phase Comparator generates an error signal that adjusts the PLL frequency output so that it is in phase with the reference signal.
