Genus of about 16-20 species of small, deciduous, epiphytic, terrestrial, or lithophytic orchids mainly from wet forest or woodland, from N. India to S. China and Taiwan. They produce short-lived, variably shaped pseudobulbs with 1 or 2 folded, lance-shaped to elliptic, mid-green leaves, up to 6 in (15 cm) long, which usually fall before flowering.
