pruno

An alcoholic beverage made almost exclusively in prisons, where alcohol and the materials to make it are banned or under heavy restrictions. It is made by fermenting various fruit peelings, ketchup, bread and other ingredients at lukewarm temperatures in a garbage bag for a little under one week. Once served, the drink has to be consumed almost immediately or else it will spoil rapidly.

As the drink has been made with improvised ingredients and in makeshift conditions, it tastes revolting, but it achieves the desired result of getting a person drunk. Alcoholic content of one batch can reach as high as 15%.
