Also known as "magic mushroom", Psilocybin is categorised as an hallucinogen by the U.S. Department of Justice. Once consumed, effects can last between 3 and 8 hours, a time period that varies between persons. Effects also include altering how the user perceives time.

In recent news, researchers have been experiementing with Psilocybin and its effects on patients with advanced-stage cancer. In a 12-patient pilot study in Los Angeles, after ingesting a small dose of Psilocybin, all 12 patients reported improved moods and decreased levels of depression and anxiety. Most of the participants also reported a lessened need for other narcotics to alleviate pain.
