A form of pendulum sometimes seen on turret clocks, though rarely on domestic clocks, in which the rod takes the form of a diamond-shaped frame composed of four steel strips connected horizontally across the centre by a strip of brass. Any increase in length of the steel due to heat is compensated for by an outward expansion of the central brass strip.
