Serial learning

Learning an ordered list of items. In serial recall, the learner has an opportunity for recall after the entire list is presented. In serial anticipation, items are presented one at a time and the learner has an opportunity to say which item comes next. In both cases, list presentations continue until the learner meets some criterion of learning.
