Sodium iodide (NaI) detector

A detector which combines a scintillation crystal (produces light when struck by ionising radiation), a photomultiplier tube, and associated electronic circuits for counting light emissions produced in the crystal (NaI) by ionising radiation. A NaI scintillation probe with a ratemeter can be used for detection of gamma and x-rays.
