Tussock moth

Tussock moths are fairly large moths with body covered in long scales that look like hair or fur. The wings are held back either flat or in a roof shape. The antennae are tucked back alongside the wings. The caterpillars are usually hairy, with tussocks of hair on their back. The hair can cause irritation to the skin if the caterpillar is handled.
