A teaching approach which helps students to become more aware of their personal values, attitudes, beliefs, and behaviour toward the environment as well as to develop their own set of values and commitments, both inside and outside the classroom, in issues/problem-solving activities. It involves considering alternatives, the consequences of alternatives, and person-al feelings (values and attitudes) toward each alternative before deciding or acting.
