Warning reminders (audiovisual) are emitted by the AWS system to ensure that the driver slows down or stops in accordance with the given signal. The following audible reminders are given: the bell rings briefly when the signal is clear; the horn sounds when the driver needs to slow down the train - the driver then has a couple of seconds to press the acknowledgement button, failing which the brakes will be applied.
