Window cake

A cake that begins with two logs of sponge cake. One log is dyed pink and both are baked. After the baking process, the logs are cut into two and connected to one another to form a square with jelly or jam (usually apricot or raspberry). The square should be formed with the coloured logs matching diagonally to form a chequered appearance. The cake is then covered with marzipan to fused everything together.
