Acropolis of Athens
The Acropolis of Athens is also known as the Citadel of Athens or The Acropolis. It is located in Athens, Greece, on a flat-top rock hill 150 metres above sea level. The remaining ruins of the Acropolis includes a number of different monuments and masterpieces, such as the Parthenon (temple of Athena), the Propylaea (large entrance gate with marble columns), the temple Erechtheum, and some outdoor theatres (Theatre of Dionysus and Theatre of Herodes Atticus). It was built during the 5th and 6th century BC.
