(1975- ) Eva Jacqueline Longoria is an American actress and model, known for her role as Gabrielle Solis on the TV series Desperate Housewives. Longoria first became famous on television in the soap opera The Young and the Restless (2001). She also did TV and magazine high-profile ads (Vogue, Marie Claire…etc). In 2010 Longoria hosted the MTV Europe Music Awards 2010 in Madrid, (Spain).

In 1998 she became Miss Corpus Christi (USA) and after completing college, she moved to Los Angeles, California, where she was signed by a theatrical agent. In 2004 Longoria started to play Gabrielle Solis in Desperate Housewives and she also starred in a direct-to-video film titled Carlita's Secret, for which she was also co-producer. She has also some film projects as an actress and as a producer.

The actress also holds model contracts with L'Oréal (Eva Longoria became a spokesperson for L'Oreal Paris since 2005 until 2010), Hanes, New York & Co, Magnum Ice-Cream, and Heineken. She is also in the Microsoft's campaign "I'm A PC".

Longoria is also a business woman: in 2008 she opened the restaurant Beso in Hollywood, along with Todd English. In 2009 she opened a restaurant with the same name in Las Vegas, and in 2010 she launched her own perfume (EVA). In 2011 she presented her book Eva's Kitchen: Cooking with Love for Family and Friends.

In 2006, Longoria founded Eva's Heroes, a charity which helps developmentally disabled children. She is also a supporter of many organisations that help children with problems.
