Hurricane warnings were posted from Intracoastal City, Louisiana, to the Mississippi-Alabama border.

Isaac developed from a tropical wave located east of the Lesser Antilles on August 21. It passed over Hispaniola and Cuba, killing at least 24 people, as it entered the Gulf of Mexico.
