The name of an icon in the viewfinder.

An icon that appears in the viewfinder to indicate that any one of a number of errors has occurred with the memory card inserted in the camera. The following are among the error messages that may be displayed in the monitor when this icon appears in the viewfinder:

• "No memory card. "

• "Cannot format memory card. Card may be defective. Insert another card. "

• "This card is not formatted. Format the card. "

• "Memory card is full. Cannot record more pictures. "

In contrast, the "No memory card" indicator displayed in the D90 viewfinder only appears when the "No memory card" message is displayed in the monitor.
