Emergency doctrine
Emergency Doctrine is a principle that allows people to act in critical situations that call for quick action without danger of recrimination. For example, a person does cardiopulmonary resuscitation on a heart attack victim and in so doing breaks several of the victim's ribs. According to the doctrine the person will not be liable for the injuries caused.
