A high level manager in a casino who oversees the smooth operation of all the games tables in the hall. Floormen are usually employed to sort out minor issues, but if a serious issue arises, such as a potential cheater, the pit boss will be called in to resolve the situation. It is a high stress job requiring the person to make many judgement calls and to have a strong understanding of gambling laws, game rules and casino operations.
