Relating to a group of people having a common national or cultural tradition. A general term to describe people who are Asian, Black or African American, Hispanic/Latino, Native American, Pacific Islanders and white. However, the term is often used to abbreviate "racial and ethnic minority," in which case it generally describes all these groups except white people.
