securities lending and borrowing

Abbreviation SLB. The lending of securities for an indefinite or definite period of time against collateral and against payment of a commission. This form of financial transaction is especially suitable for large clients with international securities holdings. There is demand in particular for longer-term arbitrage, hedging or financing transactions.
