A person who has withdrawn from society and lives out their life in their bedroom or apartment. It is predominantly a Japanese phenomenon. The individuals spend all their time watching TV, playing video games and surfing the internet without leaving their room for months or even years. They are usually supported by their parents, or obtain supplies to keep themselves alive through online shopping.
