Schedule of reinforcement
1) In relation to responses, a schedule of reinforcement is the arrangement of the environment in terms of discriminative stimuli and behavioural consequences.
2) A rule governing the delivery of reinforcers. (See, for example, fixed ratio schedule.)
3) The response requirements that determine when reinforcement will be delivered. See also Interval validity, Fixed and Variable time, Ratio schedules of reinforcement, Limited hold, Differential reinforcement of high rates (DRH), and Adjusting schedules.
4) The way reinforcement occurs because of the number of responses. time between responses, and stimulus conditions.
5) When the reinforcement of an operant performance occurs intermittently, the particular schedule by which reinforcement occurs is termed a schedule of reinforcement (such as fixed-ratio, fixed interval, variable-interval, and variable-ratio schedules of reinforcement).
