Amphibole

A group of double chained inosilicate minerals whose basic chemical unit is the tetrahedron (SiO 4 ). They are common rock forming minerals and are found in most igneous and metamorphic rocks. They form at low temperatures with the presence of water in the crystallisation environment. There are about 60 recognised mineral types in this group.
